Betting Is Worse Than Cocaine – Blakk Rasta Calls for Total Ban in Ghana

During his Urban Blend show on 3FM, as reported by MyNewsGh, Blakk Rasta expressed concern over the growing influence of gambling in Ghana, arguing that it has become even more addictive than hard drugs.
“Betting is highly addictive, even more than substances like crack and cocaine! Yet, we have chosen to legalize it in this country,” he lamented.
Citing research, he revealed that nearly half of Ghana’s population is engaged in sports betting.
“About 42% of Ghanaians participate in sports betting. But how many actually vote? How many pay their taxes? Yet, they readily gamble away their hard-earned money!” he exclaimed.
He also criticized the Gaming Commission’s recent efforts to shut down betting centers near schools and religious institutions, calling the move ineffective.
“You claim you’ll close betting centers near churches and schools. But what difference does that make? People can still bet from their own bedrooms! The only real solution is to ban gambling completely,” he asserted.
Blakk Rasta further argued that Ghana’s increasing reliance on gambling highlights a deeper societal issue.
“A nation that depends on luck instead of scientific strategies is doomed! We cannot progress if we keep gambling our future away,” he concluded.
